How knowing your personality types is helpful?

Online quizzes or tests can tell a lot about your behavior and personality. It is believed that people develop different personality types. So, knowing yours can guide you in building better relationships with others. You can work upon your strengths and weaknesses too.

Myers–Briggs Type Indicator

On the above lines, there is an online psychological assessment named Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). It is the best personality test tool to find out more about yourself. After using it, people have achieved positive results in their relationships.

This indicator was developed by mother-daughter duo Katharine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers which gives results with 90% accuracy. It identifies personality traits such as how an individual interacts with others. It can show the decision-making style of a person.

List of 16 Personality types

Myers-Briggs personality test is based on psychological types. It was created by Carl Gustav Jung. It includes 16 personality types which help in understanding the unique personalities of people.  

Below personality types facts about the Myers-Briggs personality test.

ISTJ: The Inspector 

The four letters in this personality code denote the way of thinking or behavior. I stand for Introversion. S is Sensing i.e analyzing the facts. T describes thinking and J is judging. These personality types are planners, who make logical decisions. 

ISTP: The Crafter 

ISTP describes introversion, sensing, thinking, and perceiving traits. Thus, such people love taking risks and have an easy-going attitude. Although silent, they can easily handle tough situations. Hence, their nature is always about looking for solutions. But they can be insensitive at times.

ISFJ: The Protector

ISFJ stands for introverted, sensing, feeling, and judging. Such personality types do not speak much. However, they are still a keen observer. They keep their emotions to themselves. However, they understand the emotions of others. Such people prefer learning through practical applications. It may take some time for them to accept changes. 

ISFP: The Artist

Of all 16 personalities, ISFPs are the most peaceful and kind people. ISFP means introverted, sensing, feeling, and perceiving. This shows that ISFPs love to stay among small groups. They do not worry about the future and work upon the present. Hence, they are the doers. 

INFJ: The Inspector 

Looking at the INFJ facts, it is found that these people carry high moral values. Thus, they are known as idealists. They follow their values to bring positive changes. It is a rare personality type as only 3% of the population possess such traits. You can also say they are mysterious personality types as they do not reveal everything about themselves. 

INFP: The Mediator 

They are the ones who love to work towards humanity. Their major focus is on big details. Their decisions are value-based rather than logical. For instance, Princess Diana was an individual with such traits.

INTJ: The Architect 

INTJ personality types focus on abstract information and are hard working. They always try to be perfectionists and hence plan things in advance. They possess the great skill of reading between the lines. 

INTP: The Thinker

People with such personalities are abstract thinkers. They pay attention to their internal thoughts. Their major quality is that they can think out of the box. They perform data analysis based on facts and thus take logical decisions. 

ESTP: The Persuader

ESTP means Extravert, Sensing, Thinking, and Perceiving. Such people have large groups of friends due to their outgoing behavior. They work towards immediate solutions and try to improve things. However, they may turn impulsive at times. Their greatest strength is observing the small details. 

ESTJ: The Director

Individuals following traditions and rules fall under this type. Such people are rigid in their beliefs and hence at times look rigid. Others may find them over aggressive due to their bossy behavior. 

ESFP: The Performer

Such individuals are outgoing and always love getting attention. This is one of the personality types who look for practical experiences rather than bookish knowledge. Their focus is more on the present situation and thus, overlooks the future issues.

ESFJ: The Caregiver

Individuals having such personality types are highly sensitive to others’ feelings. Hence, they love to help people and are kind. However, they always look for approvals and do not accept criticism. 

ENFP: The Champion

As the name suggests, these are individuals with great energy and enthusiasm. If they get a chance to be innovative, they will give their best. Due to their charismatic personality and effective communication skills, they can become great leaders. 

ENFJ-The Giver

These personality type individuals are strong extraverts, loyal and warm. Hence, they are termed as ‘people person’. It is their nature of finding satisfaction through helping others. But at times they blame themselves if things are not going good.

ENTP- The debater

These individuals are often termed as an innovator. Therefore, they have the skill of expressing themselves well and can create new ideas. So, you can find such an individual as an interesting personality. This is because he or she values knowledge and enjoys debating. They have a vision about future plans.

ENTJ- The commander

This is another rare personality type with effective verbal skills. They can take decisions on time and are well-organized. 

Dark core personality test

Dark core personality test is another psychological model which is useful in measuring personality traits. Through this test, your dark traits are given a score.

How personality type affects your skills and learning?

Personality types determine which area you are inclined towards or what information you are focused on. Thus, it results in shaping your lives and experiences. For instance, ENFP in the Myers-Briggs personality test suggests that a person has great communication skills. Individuals with open-mind personalities are ready to explore the world. They can learn new things compared to introverts. However, personality traits may change with time and one can put in efforts to overcome their weaknesses.
